It’s that time of year again.
That time when all the single people in the world feel ripped off because they won’t be getting jack shit on Valentine’s Day (and by jack shit I mostly mean we’re not getting any action).
Everyone knows Valentine’s Day ain’t got shit to do with love – love is an everyday thing. Love you can celebrate any time you like. Valentine’s Day is all about the cards, chocolates, flowers, presents and sweet, sweet action.
And just because it’s highly unlikely I’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day this year with anyone besides myself (considering I don’t have a companion nor to I have any on the horizon), doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’d like if I did have a suitable suitor.
And nor should you. So here’s my advice, should you wish to take it.
Ladies – if you do have a man in your life, make sure you get in there and butter him up for all the amazing things you want. Because one thing’s for sure – if you don’t drop hints, you’re not getting shit (unless he has a really close and weird relationship with his sister organises everything for him).
Fellas – do yourself a favour and use your initiative – don’t wait for your lady friend to tell you what she wants. Man-up and get something off this list (well, maybe you wanna drop a few hints just in case) and you’ll be getting some for weeks and weeks.
Toofly has just released a revamp of her Love Heart necklace. Her original All Of My Love series created quite a buzz last year, and this year she’s bring it back in colour. Each pendant is laser cut acrylic with an 18″ sterling silver chain. And for every Love Heart sold, Toofly is donating $1 to yele.org to help Haiti rebuild.
Not Bad for a Girl have just dropped their first pieces of 2010, including the amazoid Rose Script t-shirt in the special ‘Limited Love’ edition red and yellow colourway. The tee has a print inside the sleeve especially for when you roll ‘em up. Limited stock is available from the Not Bad For a Girl online store only.
Show someone you care by lacing up and saving lives by giving the gift of Nike (RED) Laces. Nike have commited 100% of the profits from Nike (RED) Laces to be split equally between The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and football-based community initiatives that deliver education and understanding around HIV/AIDS prevention.
For all you graf lovers (and lovers of graf), nothing’s gonna get the heart pounding like an Ironlak Little Lak, in Flirt. The perfect purse-size paint.
Go for a classic and grab a LOVE paperweight, designed by one of my favourite artists, Robert Indiana. Based on the original 1928 LOVE sculpture, these little guys are made of polished aluminium paper and come with a certificate of origin. Get one at Colette.
Next up are a million and one Nike Valentine’s releases. Find them yourself online!
And one very cute pair of Pumas.
And if none of that floats your loveboat, here’s my last resort. Remember the episode of the Simpson’s where Ralph choo-choo-chooses Lisa?
Well here’s the card for you to download and make for your main-squeeze. It’s worked a charm for me. Download it here & get loved up.
Yes, in spite of any rumors you might have heard, I’m just a big fucking romantic, ok?
